What our partners say about us

Menno Kramer
Head of Marketing
Utrecht University

“Reducing drop-out is an integral part of UU’s strategy to retain students that we worked hard to attract, admit and enroll into our programmes. Gaining insight into how students’ connections help reduce drop-out rates is among the first steps we are taking to tackle this age old problem. Goin’ has been championing this process every step of the way, and we are very pleased with the results so far.”

Monique Swennenhuis
Strategic advisor international marketing and international affairs
Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen

“With 16 schools in our university, we have 16 ways of onboarding students and Goin’ allows us to have one onboarding solution which also makes sure that the schools don't have to do more work than they need to.”

Inge Doeve
Program Lead Recruitment of International Students
Saxion University of Applied Sciences

"When we were talking to our international students, we heard the hardest part about moving abroad is not having any inner circle to fall back on. So with Goin’, they feel more comfortable and they already have some people who they can contact and have a community before their study starts."

Petra Kaeck
Communications Officer
Umeå University

"We're really happy that we have Goin’ as it generates less questions to the staff. So after using the app for several years, we also have a lot of student ambassadors helping the students. Especially over the summer when a lot of staff go on vacation, we know that the students can feel safe and secure and they're going to get all the answers you need over the summer."

Amy Janssen-Brennan
Director of Student Affairs
Erasmus University Rotterdam

"Last year, we witnessed a surge in students reaching out to us about housing issues. Many were in terrible situations with unacceptable living conditions. With the help of Goin', we've seen a positive change. Students have been able to assist each other in finding suitable housing, leading to a noticeable decrease in questions and issues related to housing."

Ulla Alanko
International Mobility Services
University of Oulu

"With Goin’, it was super easy. We just provided Goin’ with all the information [to get started] and their team did the rest. We launched quite late in the process, only in early August, and our term starts in September, so I was a bit hesitant how many students would join. But I was positively surprised by the numbers. We just enjoyed the results."

Gregory van Buskirk
Global Student Experience Officer
Technological University of the Shannon

"We found Goin’ to be very student-centered and that would be a great way for us to communicate to the students. We also noticed that the student aspect of it was going to help us build the community and the connectivity that we've been striving to build in TUS. The platform was zero-effort. We sent out the invites, and before we knew it, hundreds of students were on the app, eager to connect."

Andrew Ness
Dean, International Education
Humber Polytechnic

“Goin’ is staggeringly good, with absolutely no staff resources needed at all. To be honest, I'm amazed at just how successful it's been. It looks to be exactly the kind of solution that our students want to use to get prepared to come to Canada.”

Maria Sederholm Granelund
Head of the International Office
Jönköping University

"Our goal at JU is to strengthen the integration between domestic and international students. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse campus environment where students from all backgrounds can connect, learn, and grow together. Goin' ensures that students can start building friendships from the moment they receive their offer."

Tomas Bengtsson
Director International Affairs
University West

“For me it is not only the app but it’s also the people, at Goin’. It wasn’t that long ago that the founders were students themselves. In that way, they really see from the student perspective.”

Ken Withers
Director, Office of Student Recruitment
University of Toronto

“Goin’ has allowed us to focus on the students who really need us. Now, our staff has more time to help with serious concerns instead of answering repetitive logistical questions. There’s almost no administrative time involved, which is a huge advantage. Hiring enough people to run these programs is always a challenge, so for us, this was an easy solution.”

Jason Rolls
Associate Vice President for Global Engagement
Sheridan College

"Goin' is a great online community that speaks to today's learners. The generation of students we're seeing now is constantly online. Goin' allows them to manage those connections and find answers anytime. It's a platform designed to serve students in the way they learn and live best, which is exactly what we're aiming for here at Sheridan."

Morten Overgaard
Director, Office of International Education
Technical University of Denmark - DTU

"At DTU we are delighted to have introduced Goin’ to support the student´s transition from offer holder to enrolled student. The Goin’ team has gone above and beyond in finding solutions for our specific needs at DTU, giving us a say in how the platform will develop moving forward. Our international students have been exceptionally positive about Goin’, noting that it offers a safe space for them to build a community and makes them feel more comfortable about moving abroad."

Neil Green
Head of International Student Recruitment
University College London

I think that Goin' came along at just the right time and responded to a gap in the market. It occupies the 'keep warm' space between offer and enrolment and allows offer holders to build their social network in a closed environment with other UCL offer holders. The platform is really easy to use and requires minimal investment in time and resource from the university. What I like about it is that it keeps students excited about joining their university by allowing them to build connections on multiple levels, including nationality, home town, studies or hobbies. They will already have made friends when they get to UCL, and this definitely have a positive effect on their arrival experience. The feedback from our students has been very positive!

Introducing Goin' internally was the easiest process ever - everyone saw the benefits for the students and staff

Meredith Smart
Director of AUT International
Auckland University of Technology

"I truly appreciate how Goin' stands out from other social media apps. It's relaxed, not pushy towards students, and the sole focus is on creating genuine friendships. There are no ads or hidden agendas. I wholeheartedly support this initiative and have advised my staff to minimize interference, letting the app serve its true purpose."

Julia Weston
Head of Marketing and Communications
University College London - Faculty of Life Sciences

"We had an amazing response to our first email to our future students with the invitation to join the Goin’ to UCL platform. It was the highest open rate I've ever seen and has led to some great engagement with students who have been able to meet up and support each other as they begin their journey with us."

Graeme Tong
Head of International Recruitment
University of Greenwich

"Glad the University of Greenwich is part of this community. Goin' to Greenwich is working really well for our offer holders. We really appreciate the impact made on conversion, sense of belonging and enhancing the student experience at our institution."

Declan Coogan
Associate Director: Student Recruitment
Trinity College Dublin

"We have a lot of regional based teams that do great work, but personalised conversion activity was happening largely within each particular country. What's really exciting about Goin' is that now the students of these regions are coming together in a common space. We're now building a global community and a sense of connection earlier in the enrolment funnel. It's an authentic and exciting space that brings significant support to student experience, onboarding and conversion outcomes on their journey to Trinity."

Lisa Walters
Marketing, Communications and Student Recruitment Manager
University College London

"The Goin' team really helped our students develop that sense of belonging before arriving to UCL .That's so important when starting university. At SSEES, our experience as early adopters revealed that the Goin' team possesses a unique ability to not only listen but also to adapt, ensuring their platform aligns seamlessly with our student needs. The students have been loving the platform!"

Maria Lindblad
International Marketing Manager
Lund University

"We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our incoming students about the Goin' community! Students report feeling safer, less lonely and that they already have friend groups before even setting foot on campus"

Helena Bengtsson
International Communications Officer
Halmstad University

"Goin' focuses on the soft values compared to many other initiatives when it comes to recruitment and marketing. It is a service for our students that enables them to feel safe and prepared while making a very big decision in their life. We want to support our students in every way possible, and Goin’ has been a simple solution for us to offer this support without investing in more resources internally."

Parul Goel
International Student Officer
University of Antwerp

"We are happy to partner with Goin' in creating a social community for our international students. Connecting students prior to their arrival is crucial in easing their transition and making them feel at home. We chose Goin' in 2022 for its innovative peer-to-peer onboarding app. Its user-friendly interface and customisable features allow for a personalised experience."

Shraddha Vasudevan

The Hertie School

"We decided to choose Goin’ as we believe that it is a unique platform that offers an intuitive, user-friendly networking experience for our admitted students to make friends, create groups, and explore activities once they arrive in Berlin. Building meaningful relations is crucial for our journey here at the Hertie School."

Anne Simpson
International Affairs Specialist
Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences

"We discovered Goin’ Connect when we were looking for ways to support our students' well-being and integration better. The student feedback has been extremely positive, and most have commented how lovely it has been to make friends and get to know your classmates before studies even begin. From our perspective, everything has worked smoothly too, and we are excited to provide this service to our students. After all, the well-being of our students is our top priority, and the Goin´ Connect app definitely helps us in making the student experience a great one!"

Daphna Berger-Brightwell
International Marketing & Recruitment
Utrecht University

"What I love about Goin' is the impact it has on our students. Being able to speak with their future class-mates, their future friends, takes so much of their worries away and allows them to feel part of our community prior to arrival. The fact that the app is self-managing makes it an absolute win-win for our marketing team as well!"

Mats Engblom
Marketing & Recruitment
University of Helsinki

"What the Goin’ platform offers is in my opinion something more than just a conversion tool for turning applicants into enrolled students. From my point of view we are investing in students feeling welcome before they even arrive on campus. We are aiming for a higher conversion but what we also want is motivated students that feel like they are a part of our community from day one. I think Goin’ is one of the easiest ways to do that. In reality it’s been very low effort and maintenance from our side, not just in the sales pitch."

Piet van Hove
President EAIE and Senior Advisor UA
University of Antwerp

"Social networking is an essential part of the student experience, I'm impressed with how Goin' supports students in building their network in a way that perfectly suits this generation of students. The students at the University of Antwerp are loving it"

Jessica Winters
Marketing Director
Utrecht University

"For us Goin' facilitates a critical need for community building among students in a safe and ethical way. Especially friendship building. The platform is built in a very fun and engaging way with literally zero-effort for us as university. The fact it's student-led has actually been key to the achievement of the phenomenal results with Goin' at Utrecht University. Goin' helps us perfectly with what's essential in our job as recruiters and marketeers: to facilitate a safe, ethical and friendly environment, instead of acting as the student friend ourselves. That's essential to appeal to students and be appreciated by the next generation of students!"

Joachim Ekström
Head of Student Recruitment
Uppsala University

"Goin' is a huge help for the university. It helps in our conversion rates, integration and student happiness. I especially like it's a self-managing system as we can use the current community constantly to engage new admitted students, without any efforts from our side."
